When the DPC formed, we made clear what our values were.
The DPC is a centre-left to left political party, dedicated to the following principles:
-The Social Equality of all citizens.
-The Social Freedom of all citizens.
-Economic opportunity for all citizens.
-Economic justice for all citizens.
-Fair taxes.
-A community and society in which all players prosper.
-A fun, friendly community for all.
-As much Government involvement in the economy and society as necessary to ensure progress, prosperity, democracy, and economic growth.
The DPC is committed to the use of incessant campaigning and political victory to achieve our goals.
We want to build an E-UK in which everyone prospers and can achieve whatever they want.
We want to build governance and a society that works for the ordinary people of E-UK.
We want to build a free, strong, and friendly community so everyone makes friends and has a great time in E-UK.
We will conduct campaigns in a positive, hopeful way, and will never attack our opponents. We believe in positive politics!
We will represent the people of our nation and serve you at every turn, that is a solemn vow. I look forward to unveiling some exciting, innovative policies in coming days in the run up to the election!
But you can't govern based on values, and I see the future of the DPC in Government. We have compiled a list of policies based on our values that we want you to vote for in this election and which we will attempt to make real after the election. They are policies that we believe to be crucial to bring about the UK described above, of endless liberty, prosperity, and opportunity.
The policies outlined below have been either submitted by the party leadership or by ordinary members and have all been approved. We hope that you can get behind these policies and see how they will benefit you.
All policies are designed to improve the opportunity and prosperity of as many people as possible, and by doing that we will improve the state of our nation, our economy, and help us in war time. When all players can succeed, they can contribute even more to E-UK and make us the greatest nation in the world!
Economy:
- We want to see more Government support for our people, but we need to be able to raise more money to do this. That's why we will raise taxes a small amount to ensure we have a healthy budget and strong Government that will work to help all people. The minimum rate of income tax will be 7.5%, the minimum rate of Import Tax will be 15% and the minimum rate of VAT will be 0%. These small tax increases will allow us to afford to build a more prosperous nation with more prosperous people.
- We see taxes as having dual purpose. The first is to ensure that enough revenue is raised to fund Government services, but the second, more progressive, use of tax is to ensure the production and consumption of the right things. A DPC controlled Congress would introduce taxes that fit the needs of E-UK and it's people. In times of peace, we would raise taxes on weapons and gifts and cut taxes on other items. In times of war, taxes on weapons, gifts, and food would be slashed. If too much of an item is being produced and sold we would increase import and income taxes and if too much was being consumed, we'd increase VAT. If too little is produced or sold, we would cut import and income taxes, or if too little was being consumed, we'd cut VAT. We believe that a progressive tax system like this would help build the economy we need to suit times we live in.
- We believe that strong Government involvement will benefit people and will continue Government ownership of certain companies. We are proud that the state owned company pays high wages and will seek to raise the pay from £5 to £7.50 as soon as the First E-UK Congress begins, then seek to increase it further from £7.50 to £10 by the end of the First E-UK Congress. We will campaign hard, if elected, to ensure all companies pay at least £5 from the start of the First E-UK Congress, and then £7.50 by the end of the First E-UK Congress. This will increase opportunity and purchasing power.
- If a business is failing to pay the recommended minimum of £5 a day, then we believe the Government should make up the difference, to ensure prosperity and opportunity for all. We will therefore work to introduce a system of Pay Subsidies. Anyone earning less than £5.00 a day at the start of the First E-UK Congress will be entitled to - as long as they can provide proof of earning - a Government payment to make up the difference. This will then change to anyone earning less than £7.50 by the end of the First E-UK Congress. This will give all citizens more purchasing power and equality of opportunity, ensuring a common prosperity, and will also ensure better performance in war time by ensuring all citizens can afford the basic necessities of war.
- We will seek to see the state establish strong, new companies that will then provide well paid jobs. The Government will continue to own these companies, but they will be pretty much run by their employees who will make most key decisions. This will ensure that we show that ordinary workers are the most important people in our economy.
Home Affairs and Social Policy:
- Press plurality is important to ensure a balanced democracy and an active community. We therefore think that the Government should provide 1 gold to people who set up their own newspaper as an incentive to increase national debate.
- The most important part of E-UK is a strong community. We will campaign to hold weekly "Conversation Days" that will see our community come together for a good old chit-chat.
- A big, happy population is key to our success. We will seek to provide some subsidies and supplies to all new citizens, with people who move their citizenship to the UK also being provided with a small amount of gold. This will encourage population growth and ensure that new citizens are ready to play a full part in national life and have great new opportunities.
- We want to see Congress play as important a role as the President. We will seek Congressional approval for the candidate who won the most votes in Congress elections to be the Prime Minister and will be third in the hierarchy after the President and Vice President. The Prime Minister will have to be consulted on all decisions that the President and Vice President want to make and will be the voice of Congress. They will also be part of the President's cabinet.
- We will want Congress to have actual debates on the IRC channel over laws, not just vote mindlessly. This will create an engaging, exciting democracy. This debates will be overseen by the Speaker, who will be a member of Congress and will be elected by Congressmen and women. They will not be allowed to be party leaders and must be a member of Congress. They will also have to resign from their party and don't get to vote. It is their job to manage Congressional business and oversee debate.
- We want to see a weekly "President's Questions" and "Prime Minister's Questions" in which Congressmen and women will be able to quiz the President and Prime Minister on key issues. These will be overseen by the Speaker and will ensure that Government is accountable.
Defence and Foreign Affairs:
- We want moderate subsidies for entry in to the UK's main MU in order to make it more affordable. We won't look to cover the whole cost of entry, but want to make entry cheaper and more accessible as this will benefit the whole of E-UK.
- We want to look in detail at which nations would be the best friends, and which nations it would be strategically best to be hostile towards. War may be necessary for national betterment, but mindless war is wasteful. We will establish a coalition with the nations who wish to work with us, and begin planning for invasion against less friendly nations. The criteria for friendship will be based on geographical closeness, whether they are stronger than us, how friendly they are to us, our economic benefits from friendship, amongst other things. Criteria for hostility will include the strategic importance of a nation state, whether they are weaker than us, whether we can justify hostility, and their feelings towards us.
- We will seek to have a benevolent foreign policy to nations weaker than our own who are friendly towards us, including through aid to make them stronger and let them enjoy some of our prosperity, and to ensure we have allies who are strong.
We want to enact these policies to build a Britain of opportunity and prosperity for all players, to make our nation the best in the world. When our citizens have opportunity and wealth to achieve whatever they want, then we will be unstoppable.
A DPC Government will work every day to better your experience and build an E-UK for you. We will represent your hopes and your fears and be a Government for the people, of the people, by the people.
I hope you endorse our policies at the ballot box and build a Britain for you!
